Candidates should apply to the centres that will organise the examinations. The Minister of Science and Higher Education grants, administratively, the authority to organise examinations. According to the Act, examination centres can be Polish or foreign higher education institutions which offer studies in Polish philology and Polish or foreign institutions which have been teaching Polish as a foreign language or other classes in Polish for at least three years. Once the candidates are registered in the electronic database, the examinations are conducted by examiners - the chairpersons of the committees - who are included in the ministerial list and the members of the committees associated with the given centre. Their qualifications and tasks are specified in the Act.
