Died Prof. Dr. Tadeusz Zgółka - a well-known and respected linguist, lecturer at the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, member of the Committee on Linguistics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Presidium of the Council for the Polish Language at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
He was a co-author of the system of certification of knowledge of Polish as a foreign language and a member of the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language from 2003 to 2016.
He was involved in the promotion of the Polish language in the world: he was one of the founders of the Polish Studies Department at the University of Arkhangelsk, as well as a respected expert on teaching Polish as a foreign language.
