TIME FOR RODO

As from 25 May this year, we will be applying the RODO (General Data Protection Regulation) in Poland. RODO is an EU law introducing new rules for the protection of personal data, which will replace the current Polish Data Protection Act.

MORE RIGHTS FOR INDIVIDUALS

The new legislation contains a number of new measures to enhance the security of personal data, among them the obligation to report data leaks.

They also introduce several new rights for all individuals, increasing their control over personal data.

WE ARE READY

Data protection has always been important to our Agency - it is part of our credibility and builds trust with our customers.

We are ready for RODO - as of 25 May 2018, our Agency will comply with the principles set out in RODO. We have implemented all the necessary elements in the Agency that will increase the security of your personal data, including:

  • we have ensured the accuracy of the data processed,
  • we have put in place the necessary procedures to ensure that the rights of data subjects - including the right of access or rectification - can be exercised,
  • We have appointed a Data Protection Officer who can be contacted on all matters relating to data protection. Contact details of our Data Protection Officer: Adam Klimowski, e-mail: odo@nawa.gov.pl

NEW WAY OF INFORMING ABOUT THE USE OF PERSONAL DATA

One of the new obligations of all entities that use data is to inform individuals about the processing of personal data in a different way than before. Information about the use of personal data must be provided in a clear, concise and understandable manner.

To this end, we have prepared new information material for you on the personal data we process - so that you can better understand what information we collect and why we do so. We are not increasing the scope of our powers, nor are the terms and conditions of our services changing. The material is available at the Chancellery of the National Agency for Academic Exchange at 40 Polna Street in Warsaw and on the website of the https://nawa.gov.pl/komunikaty
